Michelle Rogers: Troubles at Home [Pinspot #17]

There is a sense of quiet bewilderment and loss in Rogers’ paintings, which reflect upon the very divisive concept of patriotism. Rogers draws comparisons between her own experiences growing up on the border of Northern Ireland during the most violent years of the troubles, and America’s vulnerability post-September 11.

This 32 page artist book features 11 color reproductions of the paintings exhibited from March 17 – April 14, 2007. It includes a curatorial statement by Robert Ginty, biographical material on Rogers, as well as an interview with Rogers conducted by Ginty.
