As publishers of artists’ books, monographs, catalogues, and other art ephemera, Smart Art Press is modeled on New York artist/theorist Dick Higgins’ Something Else Press of the sixties, publishing an eclectic and eccentric mix of works by and about artists, as well as related literary endeavors that seek to vitalize the scene and expand the understanding of contemporary art and culture. – Tom Patchett
That was our mission as written thirteen years ago when we began and it remains central to our publishing to this day.
Over the thirteen years we’ve published over a hundred books and catalogs plus many other wonderful oddities from films to bumper stickers. The press works hand in hand within Bergamot Stations’ Track 16 Gallery, though the press is far from limited to just covering the gallery’s endeavors.
Over the next thirteen years we hope to continue fulfilling our mission of stepping in to publish gems before they fall through the cracks.

PAYMENT
Payment may be made with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or money order. Your credit card will be charged the total amount when the order is processed for shipping.
Once in a while customers have trouble getting their credit card to go through due to their address not matching the billing statement. For these instances we suggest sending a money order.
RETURNS
Due to the expense of shipping and restocking, we cannot accept returned merchandise. All sales are final.
PROCESSSING AND SHIPPING
We ship Worldwide. Domestic Standard Shipping is via Media Mail or Parcel Post (7-14 days). US Post Office Priority Mail for domestic shipments (3 to 5 days). Global Priority and Air Mail for International Shipments (7 to 10 days).
We process orders as quickly as we can. Usually the next business day (except Mondays).
